1) All applicants for Carla's Creations Awards must be 13 years or older to submit an application. (COPPA)

2) Sites must NOT contain explicit language, pornography, or racist content (banners included).

3) All sites submitted must have at least 5 pages of original content.

4) Sites cannot have any 'under construction' or 'coming soon' signs. Please complete your site and apply when you are finished.

5) Sites that play music must have a way to turn it off.

6) ALL images on the site must load! This includes web ring graphics and banners. Linking graphics from someone else's server may cause you to not win an award if the site you are linking from is down at the time. Also, you are taking someone else's bandwidth.. which is not cool! To ensure your graphics will load at all times, upload the graphic directly to your server. Permission needs to be acquired from site owners first of course. ( I do however understand when some images have problems loading )

7) Sites must display their copyright information (bottom of site or separate page). Copyrights are very important in preserving your content and/or graphics. If the material on your site is not your own, then have a reference of where the material was obtained, or a link back to the sites from which it was taken.

8) There must not be an excessive amount of broken links within your pages. Please check your links periodically to ensure that all your links are working.

9) Please, no unnecessary plugins that require a download. Some of them are alright, I use to have Comet Cursors myself, but then realized that it messed with alot of people's computers, so I took them all off my pages.

10) Avoid excessive use of animations and clip art. Load time is also an issue here. I have a cable connection and I still have to wait on some pages to load due to excessive graphics on one page.

11) Pages containing MULTI-colored or CRaZy fonts variances are not my most favorite thing to look at.. Especially if you have animated backgrounds and flashing things with them.

12) Sites that are password protected or require a membership to view the contents will not be evaluated. How can I view your site if I can't see all of it?

13) I understand that many webmasters build their sites on free servers and can not help but to have banner ads or pop ups, so try to not have anything in excess of this.. like banner ads that take up more a great deal of your page. ( This does not include banner exchange pages! I have banner exchanges pages)

14) Sites must not crash my browser.

15) Excessive scrolling on a web page is unnecessary, you can seperate your pages for better viewing. (What this means is.. too much content on one page is alot too much sometimes.)

16) Sites submitted in another language other than English are welcome, but I must be able to translate them using AltaVista. Alta Vista is able to translate French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, Korean, Japanese, and Chinese sites into English. Languages other than these listed here cannot be translated; therefore I will be unable to evaluate those sites.

17) You may re-apply for an award after 8 weeks.

18) You MUST be willing to display the award some where on your site and link back to my site. If you don't want to display the award, then please don't bother to apply! After all, I will be putting your site up on the winners list and linking to your site.

19) Please, DO NOT make me go back to your first page to link to every other page on your site. Sites should be easy to navigate around and also not get lost!!

20) If you are applying for a commercial site, I'm not particularly fond of them but if you think your site is great and original then please apply.

21) I recognize the time, effort, quality, creativity, love and cosmetic appeal that has been put into a site. I fully understand that we all have our own creative ways and we can't all like the same things, so I try and look at your site in the way you have presented it. :-)
