Well
I'm Carla! I live back in my home town in North Alabama. I have lived in Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida. I
have two boys, one is 13 and the other is 10. Yes, they keep
me busy. I work full time and we are involved in other things for the boys. My oldest is a 7th grader and the youngest is in 4th grade.
I have a brother that is a fireman,
a sister that is a nurse another sister in Tennessee that is
a financial aid director at a college. Her and her husband just
bought a farm in TN not far from the rest of our family. I have
4 nephews and 1 great nephew.. no there are no girls in our
family but us sister's... we all had boys. My oldest nephew is a Sgt. on the police department.
My parents
are both deceased. My father having died when I was only 18
months old from what they call sleep apnia (umm.. I really have
no clue how you spell that) But I do know that it is a very
serious sleep disorder. My mother died when I was 11, she had
a brain tumor that was found when my sister, who is 7 years
older than me was born. The doctor's said that if she lived
2 years it would be a long life for her, and she lived 18! Not
long enough for me, but I do treasure the times that I did get.
My oldest sister raised me, so I guess she did an alright job
:-) (Just kidding if you read this!) My father's dad I never
knew.. he got ran over while walking down the city side walk
by a Drunk Driver back in the 1940's. My Dad chose the profession
of a police officer, and then later became an ABC Agent (Alcohol
Beverage Control) back in the 50's and 60s, that is when alcoholic
beverages where prohibited and there were alot of *Moonshine
Steels* which was his job to find them and bust them up!
My mother worked for the phone company before she got ill (although
one would never know that my mother had anything wrong with
her, because she never let on that anything was ever bothering
her) She just had epileptic seizures so no one would let her
work. She then did Alot of volunteer work for the Red Cross
and other things. My parents were involved heavily in activities
around town, such as the Jaycees, Lions Club, Red Cross, *clears
her throat* Square dancing. Anyway, you can see I came from
a pretty active family. I miss my parents alot but life goes
on, and you grow stronger.
My dad's
mother passed away when I was 15.. she was 91 I think.. let's
just say it was from old age, I mean she was born in 1889!!
My last living grandparent passed away in Sept 1999. My mother's
mother.. She was 9 days away from her 95th birthday. I will
truelly miss her. She has Always been there for me. Check out
my section below on why I believe I am a survivor and see the
wonderful page the my Net Sisters gave me when she passed away.
I enjoy
cross-stitching, collecting McDonald's stuff (yes the fast food
place), camping, bike riding, dancing (not that I ever get to
do that anymore), spending time with my boys, working on web
sites and volunteering at the boys school. I also enjoy going and watching my husband play music and filming and photographing when they play. I have actually went
out and found graphics for friends sites and gave their sites
total make overs.. Well, they did ask for the help (hehe). Actually
they loved what I did. I love making new friends! I volunteer
for Red Cross in my son's school in the first aid room and I
also help out with his Cub Scout pack a little. I was cub master
but it's hard to do that with my little man always wanting my
undivided attention. Also, now that we are back in a house,
me and Jacob love working out in the yard, planting flowers
and having squirrel feeders and bird houses and feeders.
For a
peek at what my son's enjoy you can check their page out. They

holiday pages.. more to be added soon!! I researched my family
