A little decorating

I don't normally decorate my website for any holiday, because I have huge holiday and seasonal pages on my site already. But, I felt the urge today, so I put a little bit of Christmas up.

I did want to say Happy Thanksgiving to those that are in the US and for those that aren't that celebrate this holiday.

And, to those that do not celebrate Have a Happy Thursday!

Not much going on here today, gonna paint my living room.

Took the boys to Georgia last night to meet their Grandfather, got home at 10:30. Traffic wasn't so bad coming back home but it was horrible going to meet him!

Got a huge turkey from work yesterday, gonna try and cook it for Christmas.. this should be interesting :-)

Is it gone already?

Where did my weekend go? I used to enjoy the weekends and now that I work till dark, I have no weekend because I have to work my butt off around the house all weekend.

Yesterday, I started putting up my Christmas lights.. and Before you say anything.. I know, I know.. it's early, but only 1 week earlier than I normally put up the decorations. I always start putting up my Christmas decorations the weekend of Thanksgiving. Well, I was sitting here looking at my weather bug thing on my desktop and just happen to notice that yesterday and today are going to be the Only nice days we have for awhile. I would much rather put my lights outside in 70 or 60 degrees instead of 40s or 50s .. which is what the weather is suppose to be here started tomorrow.

Last night, Ruben's little brother and cousin came over after their band practice to check out his present. The cousin was a little jealous because he had just got a new camcorder and ours is nicer LOL He took his back today.. too funny in my opinion. I went and got them all food last night and tried to keep the noise level of the new present down. They were in there listening to CDs and playing the keyboard and guitar along with the music. They did good, they kept everything down to where i couldn't hear it with the door closed.

Today, me and the little guy finished putting up the outside lights and raked the yard and then started mowing the yard, but I ran out of daylight! My little guy worked his little buns off, so I paid him more than I said I would and then took him to the comic book store so that he could get him some more yu-Gi-oh cards. My shoulder blades and the palms of my hands hurt from that dang rake.

Ruben went to look at the car I found earlier in the week. They had practice again today. He took the camera and filmed it. We wanted to make sure the sound quality was good before Saturday night. We were both very very pleased with the quality of the picture and sound that the new camera has. Anyway, we went to look at the car when he got back from practice. He seemed to like it. My friends husband just happened to be at the car lot when we got there and we talked to him for a little while. He said the car should be ready in a few days.

I didn't get the yard finished, the car washed or all the laundry finished. I feel like I did nothing this weekend. Although I worked myself to death. I messed with those stupid lights too long. I had about 6 strands of lights that didn't work. I wonder if they have a tester thing that will check those little light bulbs.... anybody know?

Tired, need a shower and going to bed ((Hugs)) till later.

oh btw.. we have wind advisors here, for winds of up to 40 mph. Crazy huh? Actually it looks like rain is blowing in behind it and we are going to be COLD this week.

Friday updates

Was a wonderful friday. I got to spend it with Ruben. Most of the day anyway.

I had to go and get my check.. which took about 2 hours. Then, off to pick up his niece at pre-school and then to pick my boys up.

I did a little shopping in between some of these times. First, I went and got me a little present. (but mine has a remote.. who the heck ever saw a camcorder with a remote?) I don't like to buy things like this but I really needed a new one and hey, it's my early Christmas present. My other one zooms in and out on it's own and the sound quality on it is horrible. This one is wonderful and it's a digicam! Woohoo!

Then, I went and got Ruben a Surprise. I wanted to get this for him for Christmas, but he was about to go and buy him one.. so I walked in the door today, trying to push this big ass box in the door and it woke him up.. it was so sweet, you should have seen the look on his face.

He was so totally thrilled about his and my presents. He's such a sweetie. He is saving his paycheck so we can go and put the down payment on the car tomorrow. I'm so excited.. I will finally have my own car again. No sorry ass drunk with no insurance better hit this car!!

oh, that reminds me.. did I ever post the pictures of my wrecked car? It was tore up pretty badly, over 5 thousand dollars worth of damage.

gotta go and turn the new present down, Ruben is at work and my boys are enjoying his present too! gonna have to go and buy me some earplugs. Oh.. he had us hooking that baby up immediately and now it's connected to the tv.. all I can say is Help my poor ears! :-)

I have a new job and I start on Monday. I am so excited I don't know if I can wait till Monday. I liked the people at this place from the start and I am so happy that they chose me. It has a family atmosphere and it will be like a job I had when I lived in Florida.

Mega bucks for me. hehehehehe. and doing a job that I really like doing! Went to look at a car today and we should be getting it tomorrow or Saturday. It was a really nice looking car with low mileage. Me and Ruben were discussing this morning that if I get this job and even if I didn't because my other job had another place for me starting in a week.. we HAD to get another car because of the hours I would be working at either job. He's working longer hours now and it is now impossible to only have 1 car.

So, went to my friends car lot today and she had a really nice car that I like alot, and I'll go back over there tomorrow with Ruben. He said we would get something this weekend. We also have to take the car we have now and get that idiot to change the radiator back.

ok.. I can't sit here too long.. I'm to excited and I need to finish painting that I started earlier today.

Gonna go ahead and get my Christmas stuff out this weekend because it's suppose to be nice and warm and I like putting up lights and outdoor things when it's warm, not when I'm freezing my butt off trying to hang lights!! So, that's this weekends project for me.. hey, but that might change :-)

Projects and jobs

Went on a job interview today. I have to say it's the longest interview that I've ever had in my entire life.. that I can remember anyway! It last almost 2 hours. I really like these people, so personable and family oriented. It's an office job and it's going to be hard at first, but I think I would do great there.. plus the pay is GREAT. I want this job extremely bad. They said they would decide by Friday.

We are almost finished with the kitchen project. All cabinets are painted and put back up and one doorway is finished. Just two more doorways and the kitchen is completely finished. Ruben just wants to put up two more shelves and it will look great.. well except the floor that we are going to replace.

Laundry room has a new shelf now and he wants to put one more in and then we have to put the new laundry room sink in.

My sister said the next project needs to be the porch steps LOL But it is actually going to be repainting the living room.

Oldest one is at church so, as soon as he gets home, I'm going to bed. I don't know what's up with being so tired all the time, but I'm so tired and sleepy.

Holy Crazy Cat!!!

My son's cat Salty has gone nuts!!! She is chasing invisible monsters throughout my bedroom and attacking my rugs.. Crazy cat! LOL

The other two are up on same son's bed.. sound asleep with him. Smokey has now decided since it's 30 freaking degrees outside that he wanted in for the night.

BTW.. did you see that on my little temp thing over there --> 27 degrees Tonight... here in AL.. dang that's too cold for me.

work, work and more work

I'm so tired that I'm ready to get in the bed right now.

Ruben is into redoing the kitchen and so we have been working almost non stop on getting it finished.
This was our weekend.
I got home from work on friday and he had painted the ceiling in the living room and had finished up the edges on the ceiling in the bedroom.. at least I think that was friday.
I worked Saturday 6-2. Took the cabinet doors off and took everything out of the cabinets.
Repainted the walls the same color, just touched up the paint. He finished sanding and putting the sheet rock putty on the ceiling and then painting it. Then we started on the cabinets... at 6 am sunday morning!!! He also got a shelf to put in the kitchen to replace my 50 year old cabinet.. looks much better.
Cleaned off everything as I put them all in the new shelf. Scrubbed the top of my refrigerator.
Sunday morning started painting the cabinets. They are suppose to look like cedar wood.. they don't really but I do like it better than my yellow-lemonade color. (liked it at first but after 3 years of cleaning that bright yellow.. I want a darker color)
We also bought a redwood color for the outside porches and the floors. We worked Sunday from 5 am to 9 pm Sunday night.

Jacob was sick Monday morning, he was coughing and sounding like a seal and he had a temp of over 100. I took Josh to school and then came back home to take care of Jacob.

Back to work today, they worked my butt off.. I had so many cell phone parts to ship out that I didn't even get finished before time to go home. We are also counting everything in the entire warehouse, getting ready for inventory, that's coming up in December. I'm being moved to a new department tomorrow. I'm going to the very back to do returns.. not sure what I'll be doing, but I won't be shipping or counting cell phone parts anymore.
Two of my bosses came up to me before time to go this afternoon and first they told me I was in trouble LOL my heart just about sank down into my feet. I really did think I had done something wrong!! Then they asked me if I wanted to move back there.. They said they liked my work. So that's cool .. now to get another car. Ruben worked till 7 this morning and I almost didn't get to work.

Going to finish putting the rest of the things back under the cabinet in the kitchen and then I'm going to bed. ((hugs)) till next time.

It has been so hot this week. It's been up in the 80s every day so far. Today was 82 and looks like a change for tomorrow though.. They Say rain is moving in and will drop the temps down to 60s..heck it's not even 60s now.. it's 73 at 9 pm!! in November! That's cool though, I love not so hot, not so cold weather.. just make up your mind whether or not I can get out my winter clothes or keep out the summer clothes will you?

Wednesday night is when the oldest one goes home with a friend after school and then they go to Awana's together. He just got home a little while ago, so I better make sure he was fed and get them ready for bed.. I'm Sure he Didn't do his homework.

Tired week already

My new job wears me out. I get home and I'm already wanting to crawl in the bed. But, instead today I was trying to clean up the kitchen. Ruben worked on painting the kitchen yesterday. The ceiling and walls are finished. He put a fresh coat of the same color on the walls because we decided it was the best color. We decided on redoing the cabinets a wood grain instead of painting it another color. Since we couldn't come up with a good color besides my already yellow cabinets.. which is getting old. He also finished the bedroom. Just need a border now.

Next... the living room, we've already chosen the colors. So, when I get the kitchen cleaned up.. it's next. Still gonna put new linoleum in the kitchen.
