"Today is your Birthday"
Here is everything
relating to Randy's astrological sign, Taurus.

PERSONALITY:
Refined, patient, and affectionate, Taurus likes food, art, fashion,
and the nice things in life (like cold hard cash!). Your earthy
sign rules growth, acquisitions, and material wealth.

IN
DEPTH
Taurus is
the second of the signs of spring and relates to the fruitful
earth. The time of Taurus is preserved in rhyme by the April
showers that bring May flowers (approximately April 21 to May
20). The symbol of Taurus is the bull. But this is no charging
Bull, except for the credit cards. The Taurean bovine is a
relaxed one. The image of Ferdinand, sitting in a field and smelling
wild flowers, fits well. Taurus is a sign that seeks comfort
and pleasure above all. The effort of charging about would
be too much!
|
|
Positive Taurean qualities include steadfastness, loyalty,
reliability, physical stamina, sensuality, an appreciation
of beauty (especially in tangible form), an affectionate nature,
and a knack for dealing with the physical world. Taurus is a 'money'
sign, which does not guarantee wealth to individuals born in the
spring but can indicate a material bent, focus, or concern. Money
and possessions are often important ego issues for the Taurean.
These people tend to be identified with what they earn, own,
and enjoy. Finishing is also a Taurus inclination. Dependability
and follow-through are important.
|
|
Although mules are associated with stubbornness, the same
could be said of Bulls. One of the liabilities of Taurus is a
tendency to become 'stuck in the mud' or too set in one's ways.
Because comfort is preferred, life could become a bit too
routine -- what many other people would consider boring. I knew
one Taurus who was proud of eating the exact same cereal for breakfast
every day for thirty years! Predictability has strong appeal.
|
|
Pride of ownership tends to be strong in Taureans. This may expressed
through the home, through the work, or through many of the objects
which the Taurean purchases. The desire for admiration
is often channeled through possessions. Luxurious items,
beautiful objets d'art, fine wines, gourmet pastries, or anything
that indulges the senses can be a focus for the Taurean
to feel important. Self-esteem is often connected to earning power,
what one owns, or the capacity to enjoy life fully. Collections
are common with a Taurus, and many of them are of high-quality.
Hanging on to what one has (and adding to it) are dominant urges
for Taurus.
|
|
Goods and goodies are a strong drive for Taurus. A sweet
tooth is rather common, but the search for indulgent experiences
can be directed toward artistic pursuits, liquor, fine foods,
elegant objects, or many different ways of gratifying sight, smell,
hearing, taste, and touch -- especially touch. Taurus is usually
a 'touchy-feely' sign and responds strongly to how people
(and situations) feel.
|
|
The highest form of Taurus is the person who is comfortable
in the material world. These individuals may be money magnets.
They appreciate all the myriad pleasures associated with having
a physical body and enjoy sharing many forms of gratification
with others. They remind us of all the simple pleasures
of life and encourage us to indulge our appetites to the max.
Life with them is very sweet. |
THE MYTH OF Taurus:
Many bulls appear throughout mythology as part of spring festivals
or in stories of possessive gods. In Greek mythology, the best-known
legend is that of the beautiful Europa, kidnapped by Zeus when
he took (for nefarious purposes) the form of a bull. |
NICKNAMES:
Taurus natives are occasionally called Taureans, but they're far
more likely to be referred to as Bulls. Here and there you may
find a reference to Cows as well. Same concept.
